About Me

Adnan Abir smiling outdoorsAdnan Abir / Portrait

I enjoy finding what breaks, building what helps, and exploring what comes next.

Adnan Abir

I’m an Infotronics Engineering student at Hochschule Rhein-Waal and currently work as a Software QA Working Student at BlackBerry.

In my professional role, I contribute to software quality by testing features, identifying issues, working with test cases, and supporting reliable development processes. This experience has strengthened my attention to detail and taught me that great software is not only about how it works—but also how consistently and securely it performs.

Beyond QA, I’m deeply interested in artificial intelligence, automation, and software development. I enjoy experimenting with AI-assisted workflows, building practical projects, and continuously expanding my technical skills.

Outside technology, travelling is an important part of who I am. Discovering new places, people, and perspectives keeps me curious—and that same curiosity shapes the way I learn, solve problems, and approach my work.

Software QA, Werkstudent

BlackBerry
  • Execute structured test runs and support release-readiness activities to ensure stable, reliable, and high-quality software.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to reproduce defects, assess risks, validate fixes, and strengthen overall product quality.
  • Contribute to R&D initiatives by evaluating new features, identifying improvement opportunities, and providing quality-focused feedback throughout development.
  • Create and maintain test cases, test runs, QA documentation, and internal wiki content for consistent and traceable testing.

Since Curiosity Kicked In — Ongoing

Independent Projects & Continuous Learning

Personal Projects
  • Turned curiosity into personal projects, prototypes, scripts, and experiments—usually starting with, “What happens if I try this?”
  • Explored software, AI, automation, and product ideas by building them, breaking them, and rebuilding them better.
  • Developed a natural QA mindset long before the job title: questioning assumptions, finding edge cases, and spotting opportunities for improvement.
  • Collected practical skills, failed experiments, and countless debugging lessons—the unofficial experience that prepared me for the official role.

Aug 2023 — Present

An interdisciplinary engineering programme that connects computer science, software development, data processing, electrical engineering, signal processing, and intelligent systems. Through a strong mix of theory, practical labs, and project-based work, the programme builds a broad technical foundation from embedded hardware and networks to modern software systems, automation, data analysis, and AI-driven applications. It develops the ability to understand complete systems, work across hardware and software layers, and approach technical challenges with an engineering, research, and product-quality mindset.
